★ World's first 4th-dimension roller coaster (opened as 'X', 2002)
X2 was a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, USA. It opened in 2002 and closed in 2026. The ride stood 200 feet tall, dropped 215 feet and reached 76 mph over 3,610 feet of track, with 2 inversions.
Seats mounted on the outside of the track spin independently, forward and backward, through drops and flips — a ride mechanism no coaster had attempted before it opened.
Field note: closed in July 2026; Six Flags announced its permanent retirement on September 29, 2026.
