About Iron Gwazi
★ Fastest hybrid coaster in North America at opening
Iron Gwazi is a hybrid roller coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida, USA, open since 2022. The ride stands 206 feet tall, drops 206 feet and reaches 76 mph over 4,075 feet of track, with 3 inversions.
A steel-tracked rebuild of the wooden Gwazi, now among the fastest hybrid coasters anywhere. Its 91-degree first drop is steeper than straight down.
Field note: replaced a dueling wooden coaster that had fallen out of favor with riders for roughness.
