About Baron 1898

Baron 1898 is a steel dive roller coaster at Efteling in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands, open since 2015. The ride stands 98 feet tall, drops 98 feet and reaches 56 mph over 2,493 feet of track.

Themed to a legend of a baron who fell into his own mineshaft, Baron 1898 combines a dive-coaster drop with a backward launch inside a themed mine building.

Field note: built on the site and around the structure of the park's former mine-themed dark ride, De Vermolen Molen.
